Jeff Tweedy-Living Room Show 2/7/09 : This was the fifth year that Jeff 'auctioned himself off' at Second City's Letters To Santa Benefit show. For 24 hours, Second City is open to the public to enter and leave as they please while performers entertain throughout the night. At one point, there is an auction where a group of 30 people bid on a private concert from Jeff Tweedy (lead singer of Wilco) to be held in one of the group members living rooms. Four groups were bidding against each other, but Jeff ended up agreeing to play 4 separate shows for each of the groups in return for ~22k each to the Letters to Santa charity. Jeff alone raised around $100,000 between the Shows and other auctioned items to help needy families in the Chicago area during the holiday season. These are some pictures from our show.
